Some Things To Be Thankful For - Anchored In Him

At Anchored In Him we would like to wish a Happy Thanksgiving and Happy Holidays to you and your family from our house to yours. As you read the short poem below, think of the blessings that God has blessed you and all of us with in 2010. So often we fail to give God the praise and thanks that He deserves. See my friends without God what do any of us have? This past year has been trying for our great nation, we are still fighting the Global War On Terrorism, brave men and women are dieing for what our great nation stands for and always has. We have many new members in the Legislative Branch of the Federal Government and new Governors at state level as well as legislators. We need to pray for our government at all levels, pray that they will come on bended knees seeking God's Devine wisdom and guidance. Also pray for our nation that we would turn back to God, many nations have fell because of exactly what we are doing and that is they turned their backs on God. I often wonder if the people in our great nation are willing to sacrifice, sacrifice what is necessary to get the burden of debt off us. This will undoubtedly call for great sacrifices from all of us, pray that God will lead us to make the best decision. We need to continue to pray for the members of our Armed Forces and their families. Many families will have an empty place at the table as a loved one is fighting for our freedoms and liberties that we often take for granted. Pray for those families that have lost a loved one this year in war or that God has called home, may the Comforter be with them. If you do not have a church family or home, my friend you do not know what you are missing! Email us and we will gladly help you in finding a church home. Many a person is dieing and going straight to hell everyday. They have rejected Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. We have much to be thankful for, think about the song Remind Me Dear Lord. Heavenly Father as I come to you in prayer continue to remind me that everything comes from You. Dear Lord forgive us of our sins and where we have failed You as we are weak in the flesh as You have taught us in the Holy Bible. Father we are grateful for the blessings that You have bestowed upon us. Above all the thanks that we can give You is the sacrifice that You gave to us and that was Your Son Jesus Christ who died on Calvary for all of man kinds sins; past, present and future. Heavenly Father many are hurting within our great nation. Father bestow Your blessings upon them as only You can. Father let us always remember what You have blessed us with. Dear Lord we ask that You continue to remind us that we are to give back to You what You have blessed us with. Let us remember to share with those who are less fortunate. We ask Father that You be with our missionaries throughout the world. We thank You Lord for all of Your blessings and ask a special blessing for our Armed Forces and their families. Comfort those that have lost a loved one this past year as only You can. We ask all these things in Jesus holy name. Amen
The taxes I pay because it means I'm employed . . . The clothes that fit a little too snug because  it means I have more than enough to eat . . . My shadow who watches me work because  it means I am out in the sunshine . . . A lawn that needs mowing, windows that need  cleaning and gutters that need fixing because it means I have a home . . . The spot I find at the far end of the parking lot because it means I am capable of walking . . . My huge heating bill because  it means I am warm . . . All the complaining I hear about our government because it means we have freedom of speech . . . The lady behind me in church who sings off key because it means that I can hear . . . The piles of laundry and ironing because it means my loved ones are nearby . . . The alarm that goes off in the early morning hours because it means that I'm alive . . . Weariness and aching muscles at the end of the day because it means I have been productive . . . God's grace and His Mercy because it means He provided a way for me to be saved and go to heaven . . . This Thanksgiving, we hope you pause to give God  the glory and thanks for all of this and more. Author Unknown
