I've been blessed by the Master's hand,
'Tho I'm just an ordinary man.
I often wonder why He loves me so,
I'm so unworthy of His love, I know.
He gave me a home and a loving wife,
and sent us children to brighten our life.
If you should stop by here any day,
I would smile and tell you in my old familiar way,
hey! There's no place I'd rather be
than here with Jesus and my family.
I've never longed to travel to a foreign land,
to walk on beaches of silvery sand.
I've never wanted to be a movie star,
have a famous name and be worshiped from afar.
I've never had the urge to roam,
For I feel like a king in my little home.
I thank Jesus every day and tell Him in my old familiar way,
hey! There's no place I'd rather be,
than here with You, Jesus, and my family.
One of these days when He calls me home,
I'll have a brand new mansion, all my own.
With my family I'll stroll hand in hand,
all over heaven's great promised land.
When we've been there a million years or more,
should we chance meet on that golden shore,
I know you will hear me say in my old familiar way,
There's no place I'd rather be
than right here with Jesus and my family.
