Another fresh New Year is here
Another year, my life to live,
To banish worry, doubt, and fear,
To love and laugh and give.

This bright new year is given me,
To live each day with zest.
To daily grow and try to be
My highest and my best.

I have the opportunity
Once more to right some wrongs.
To pray for peace, to plant a tree,
To sing more joyful songs.

Another year to laugh and love,
To try again; a brand new start.
Another chance to do things right
To share the love within my heart. 

Now that the Holidays are through,
Did you do what you wanted to do?
Were you with family? Were you with friends?
Did it seem that the Holidays would never end?

Remember this - let it live in your heart...
The New Year is just beginning to start.
Keep family and friends in your thoughts every day
And the spirit of the New Year will not go away.

As you have read the poem above the true meaning is what the New year is, opportunity. The opportunity to make new and throw away the old. For us that have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior we know that are sins were cast as far as the East is to the West. God gave us the opportunity to start anew when He forgave us of our sins. As we go through the 2011let us remember not only to love and share love, but to share the Gospel. Let's share what God has done for us in our life and let is shine through out the year.

Our great nation has more trouble on it's plate than it can imagine since we have turned our back on God. While talking to a retired minister I believe he stated it best "God has taken His hand off this country". People in our great nation have come to rely upon the government instead of God.

We have been at war now for 9 years, we are making progress against the terrorists. Many  brave men and women have dies for the cause of freedom. These freedoms we often take for granted.

We are a nation that is broke spiritually, morally and monetarily. Corruption is within our governments at every level, we have become a very greedy nation, what is in it for me mentality. Pray this year for a great revival to sweep our land and that we as a nation would turn back to God not man. Church's are closing their doors everyday due to lack of attendance, many do not evening have mid-week or Sunday evening services. We have children that have never been inside of a church. God help us as a nation!

Father as I come to you in prayer, forgive me along with others of my sins and sinful nature. Heavenly Father if it be your will sweep this nation with a great revival, but let the revival begin within me and my heart. Lord I thank you for the blessings that you have bestowed upon me this past year and let me remember that you are the giver of all and that I owe it all to You. Father I thank you for sending your Son to die for my sins along with all of mankind's sins past, present and future. Father I thank you for life, thank you for the blessings of my family and friends who are near and dear to me. Thank you Father for just what so often we take for granted, a roof over my head, a job and food on the table. Father thank you for my church and church family, they both are always near when I need them. Heavenly Father be with us this coming year, let us turn the new leaf towards you and I thank you for all that you have done and what you are to do, I ask all these things and give all the praise to Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior.
