Anchored In Him - Am I Grateful?

God Bless and Holiday Greetings from our family at Anchored In Him. As we begin the start of the most festive time of the year let us give thanks to God for what He has blessed us with. Many times we do not thank God for all the blessings. We have tendencies to moan and groan, complaining of what we don't have instead of thanking God for what He has blessed us with. "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus." Philippians 4:19 Sometimes we tend to look at a glass of water "half empty" instead of "half full". The blessings are there if we open our mind and eyes and see what God has blessed us with. God has blessed my wife and I with a ministry that we do. We do a food pantry ministry at Hillcrest Baptist Church in El Paso, TX. We have been able to lead many to the Lord to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Once the United States was hit with COVID 19 we could not do the Food Pantry as before. We now do MEGA Drive Through's to distribute food to those in need. Everyone that goes through the drive though receives gospel tracks. We will never know how or what these tracks will do. "So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." Isaiah 55:11 Both Linda and I have so much to praise God for, we both contracted COVID19, recovered from it and we give all the thanks and glory to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ for the healing of this, we are tuly blessed. Many famileis will have an empy seat(s)at the table this year remember them in prayer, we may not know them / these families, but God does. Pray for the lost. As you read the poems below, think about what these unknown authors are saying. Have a Happy and Blessed Thanksgiving. Bro Dave and Linda Wick Heavenly Father as we come to you today, humbled on our knees to thank you for not only the blessings, but those times that are difficult and hard. We thank you most of all for your Son Jesus Christ who willingly went to the cross to die for all of man kind sins; past, present and future. We know that this year since Spring with the Covid19 in the world that this is causing us troublesome times. We give you thanks for those who have survived this and may the Comforter be with those who lost a loved one this year. May those families look to you to give them the peace and understanding that passes all time. In Revelation 21:4 the promise that you shall wipe away all tears from their eyes; and there shall be no more death is of great comfort to us that have accepted Jesus Christ as our personal Savior. Dear God be with our great nation, we ask that you continue to bless us as only you can. We ask that the elected officials who have not accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior come to know and accept Christ as their personal Savior and let Him lead and guide them after study in the Holy Bible and prayer. We pray for those that are walking in darkness,we know that they need to accept Jesus Christ as their personal Savior. Heavenly Father watch over and protect our Armed Fores and their families, our missionaries, first responders and health care workers. They face the uncertainites of separation, war and seeing death. Be with us and continue to bless us this day and the days ahead. We bring these prayers and petitons to you in the name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Amen We give You thanks in everything. The blessing of the LORD, it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it. Proverbs 10:22 What we might consider "blessings" don't always help people. Sometimes they hurt. We don't always know what is best for us. Often, what we think we want turns out to be a big mistake. Consider the case of two girls: one extremely beautiful -- the other quite plain looking. Because of her natural beauty, the one becomes totally self-absorbed. Thinking herself superior, she grows haughty and proud, and, although rich and famous, has no true friends. She selfishly only seeks her own welfare and gives no thought to other's desires or happiness. As she grows older and less attractive, she cannot live with not being the center of attention. Lonely and depressed, she finally takes her life. The other girl, not being endowed with any great natural beauty, is not tempted to be proud and haughty. She is forced to develop in other ways. She, being humble, is willing and ready to help others and gains many friends. Because she could not rely on her natural abilities in life, she was forced to turn to God and seek His help. With God's life and love manifesting through her, she was able to marry a godly man, and they raised a fine family together and enjoyed a long and happy life. Which girl was really blessed? Just remember: what you think you want is not always what you would really want. Be thankful for what you have and who you are. SAY THIS: Thank you Lord for my life and all your blessings.
Be thankful that you don't already have everything you desire. If you did, what would there be to look forward to? Be thankful when you don't know something, for it gives you the opportunity to learn. Be thankful for the difficult times. During those times you grow. Be thankful for your limitations, because they give you opportunities for improvement. Be thankful for each new challenge, because it will build your strength and character. Be thankful for your mistakes. They will teach you valuable lessons. Be thankful when you're tired and weary, because it means you've made a difference. It's easy to be thankful for the good things. A life of rich fulfillment comes to those who are also thankful for the setbacks. Gratitude can turn a negative into a positive. Find a way to be thankful for your troubles, and they can become your blessings. Author Unknown
