At
Anchored In Him we would like to welcome
you to our 2004 Thanksgiving
Pages. This is a special
time for Americans to give thanks to God
for the blessings He has given
us. Our
nation just finished the process of elections
of national, state, and local
officials. It is now time
for us as a nation to get on
with healing and unite as
Americans. Much of our
great nation is divided on many issues,
our prayer is that we as nation
will support our leaders at all
levels and their cabinets.
We
pray for the US Congress and we
constantly pray for our Armed
Forces and their families.
This time of the year is
stressful on these families for
numerous reasons. We ask that
you remember them in your
prayers while all of us gather together
with our families. These
times are special moments in
our lives as they are memories
that no one can take from us.
Also we ask that you remember
the less fortunate as the Holy
Bible tells us that there will
always be those less fortunate.
Lets
all try to be more like Jesus
and love each other as He loved
us so much that He gave His life
for us at Calvary. I ask
that you remember our
missionaries throughout the world
as many of them are in countries
that are hostile and these
people do
not know about and many do not
want to know of Jesus Christ
and His love for us.
We hope to see you in church!
O God, when I have food,
help me to remember the hungry;
When I have work,
help me to remember the jobless;
When I have a home,
help me to remember those who have no home at all;
When I am without pain,
help me to remember those who suffer,
And remembering,
help me to destroy my complacency;
bestir my compassion,
and be concerned enough to help;
By word and deed,
those who cry out for what we take for granted.
Amen
The best things in life are free
When we count
our many blessings;
It isn't hard to see
that life's most valued
treasures are the
treasures that are free.
For it isn't what
we own or buy
that signifies
our wealth.
It's the special
gifts that have
no price:
our family,
friends and health.
