Sitting
alone on
the beach
at the sea
Waiting
for you to
come back
home to me
I've
watched
and I've
waited for
many a
month
And I'll
wait many
more dear
for thee
The day
that we
parted was
sunny and
clear
It felt so
refreshing
to still
have you
near
The kids
and I
laughed
with you
as you
remarked
I'll be
back real
soon . . .
don't
you fear
Darling, I
know it's
a real
cruel war
Like one
that
you've
never been
in before
But it has
been days
and I've
heard not
a word
Oh,
Darling,
I'm
praying
for you
Praying
that God
in His
infinite
power
Will guide
and
protect
all our
soldiers
over there
And help
to bring
peace to a
war torn
land
Oh, I pray
that
you're
safe in my
prayers
The
children,
they miss
you, they
try to be
brave
They tell
all their
friends
that their
daddy is
safe
I have
tried to
protect
them from
the
sadness of
war
But I
still see
the tears
on their
face
While I'm
sitting
alone, on
this beach
at the sea
I feel the
warm
presence
of someone
with me
And it
makes it
much
easier,
sitting
here alone
Waiting
for you to
come home
So,
Darling, I
hope that
where ever
you are
You know
that we're
praying
and you
feel our
love
The
children
remind me
how strong
you are
And that
God's
looking
down from
above
