What is it that you said today
You say that we are though
I just don't understand it.
I'll always go on loving you
There was a time I was your best friend
You wanted me always to be
Then we married, you started drinking
And staying away from me
After our last child was born
You tried hard to be a good dad
But you started running around
And you were making me so sad
You see, we were in Sunday School
And went to church and prayed
Oh, how is it that satan can step in
And make a Christian stray
We have to cling to Almighty God
Hold tightly to His hand
Or hard times come and we drift apart
And satan enters in
It is so hard to make amends
When from the Lord we turn and run
Come my troubled husband
Come home, when day is done
Don't continue with your drinking
And your guilt-filled night and days
Please be the father our children need
And together we must pray
This aching heart still loves you
And I pray to God above
He'll reach down and touch you
And you'll let Him show His love

God
bless
you my
Sister-In-Christ
Keep my tongue, Lord bridle it
well
Words of truth, oh may I tell;
Take my heart, its wellspring deep,
Cleanse and purify and keep.
