Times Have Changed ~ Anchored In Him

"Thus sayeth the Lord, Stand ye in the ways, and see, and ask for the old paths,
where is the good way, and walk therein, and ye shall find rest for your souls.
But, they said, We will not walk therein."
Jeremiah 6: 16

Years ago, teachers in schools read from God's Holy Word and
children were taught to have a reverence and godly respect for the Lord
and to respect others. The fear of the Lord is the beginning of all true wisdom.
God was put first, before everything else, and education centered around
the ways of the Lord. Children were taught about their Maker, the
creation, the golden rule, and God's commandments. They understood
love for God, their fellow classmates and their family.

The way of God was the main focus and talking with the Lord was
seen as a way of life, even in schools, the same as conversation
with each other. Today, prayer is removed from schools and the
very mention of the Lord's name can cause problems. Teachers
are no longer allowed to lead their students in prayer or allow
them to pray aloud. The principles this country was founded on have
been forsaken. In this new age, it seems everything is welcomed into the
schools except the one who should be, our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

I recently read about a teacher who saw a group of boys on their knees
in a corner of the school yard during recess. The teacher rushed up the huddle
of boys and asked, "What are you doing?" One of the boys replied, "We're
shooting dice." The teacher said, "Thank goodness!" "I was afraid
you all were praying!"

It's a sad day in America when gambling is allowed on the school
grounds, at recess, but God is forbidden to be mentioned
and is even unacceptable. Times have changed and so have people.

Birth control methods are freely given out but the message of self-control
and abstinence is omitted. Sex education is taught, but godly instruction
in righteousness is omitted. Praying is intolerable while sin runs rampant
and doctrines of evolution and humanism are being introduced more and more
each day. Is there any wonder why we see students taking guns to schools
instead of Bibles; when we must consider how Christ has been forsaken in
the classrooms and colleges of America? If our lawmakers and educators
believe that students wearing school uniforms can reduce violence, then
why do they reject prayer, which truly reduces violence?

Since the removal of prayer from our schools in the 60's, we've seen a
steady moral decline in our nation. Our nation became more secular and
less tolerate of moral standards and values which we are to adhere to.

The alternative lifestyle is now even being accepted by schools and is
no longer allowed to be called sinful, by many, as they are told not
to discriminate against a person's choice. The things which are an abomination
to the Lord are no longer seen as unacceptable by some leaders. Thus, the
ways of the world have crept into schools and also into many churches,
who have chosen to have a seeker friendly type gospel, in order not to offend
those who attend. Yet, what we see is an offence to our Lord and Savior.

It's time for Christians to return to the old paths and take a stand
for the ways of the Lord that lead to eternal life. There is only one right
way and we see it in God's Holy Word. May our prayer be for the
transforming hand of the Lord to touch us, mold us, and make us
to be more like Jesus, each day. Without holiness, no man shall
see the Lord. If this nation does not humble itself, seek God's face
and confess sins, it is headed for further disaster. Healing is available
if America will call upon the Lord and wicked ways are forsaken. Yet,
we see evil men wax worse today, just as the Bible predicts.

Once America became too proud to allow talking to God in the classrooms,
they are reaping what was sown. Crime and violence are running even more
rampant. You can turn on your radio or television and see how many shootings
and acts of violence have occurred already this year. The papers record the
evil that now takes place across this land, which was unheard of years ago
when God was put first and family values upheld.

Again, the value of prayer should be seen and what is truly important in
this life. Prayer changes things. May our prayers ascend to the Lord in
humility as we choose to follow the right path leading to eternal life.
There is a, way that seems right unto men, but the end thereof is the way
of death. Only those who follow on the straight and narrow way will be
blessed and abide in the House of the Lord, forever.

Blessings in Christ,
